Comments Off on Two Anthologies
Deserts of Fire and In the Shadow of the Towers
Deserts of Fire is an anthology of fiction taking place in or during the Iraq War. The anthology will feature stories ranging in perspectives from action oriented military stories to polemical stories of dissent.
In the Shadow of the Towers is an anthology of fiction taking place after the attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001. The anthology is open to stories about the attacks themselves as well as to stories set in the Zero Years during the time of “new normal” as long as the characters are in some direct and tangible way moved by or influenced by the reality of those attacks.
Both anthologies are open for submissions of previously published and new fiction, but will mostly include reprints. These are horror, fantasy and science fiction anthologies but will also include experimental works with irrealist or surrealist aims that may work with, against, or without traditional genre tropes.
